Spectranet Admin Login: IP, Change Password and Manage Users

First, let me make one thing clear. Your Spectranet admin login is very much different from your self-care dashboard and I am saying this because a lot of people mix the two together.

I have already written extensively about Spectranet self-care from managing the login credentials to using the dashboard and in this write-up, I will do the same thing for the admin login.

The admin login IP redirects to spectranet.mobilewifi which you can also visit directly and it is very much easier to remember than the IP itself.

Anyways, when you visit the Spectranet login IP, you will immediately have access to 7 important tabs;

  • Connection
  • About
  • Admin
  • Settings
  • Status
  • Disk
  • Self Care

There is also a Facebook tab right there but I would have expected it to take me to their Facebook page or group but it is just a link to facebook.com.

At the top of the tabs, you will see the battery percentage, 4G network indicator, time, date, and link to Home and Login / Logout (if you are logged In)

Now, I will explain what is at the end of each tab and how to get the best out of them.

Spectranet Admin Login IP

192.168.8.1 is the IP address where you can manage how your Spectranet MiFi works. changing passwords to changing how many users can connect, banning users, knowing how many and which users are currently connected, and tracking your data usage.

Make sure your phone, tablet, or pc is connected to this MiFi whose settings you want to change or manage for this to work. Once you visit the IP, you will be redirected to spectranet.mobilwifi and you can click on any of the tabs (except Facebook) to log in.

The default username and password are both “admin” without the quote. It is recommended you change that immediately to something you and only you can remember.

You can click on Home at the top right corner of the page to see all the tabs again. You can pretty much access most of them right from inside each other.

Without further ado, let’s explain what happens when you click on each of those tabs.

1.) Connection Tab: It gives you access to your data usage which includes download, upload, and total. It also shows you how long you have been using the current data. You can click/tap on the clear history link to restart the above data details all over again.

2.) About Tab: From here, you can access vital information about your MiFi from its serial number, software version to IMEI, and many more.

3.) Admin Tab: It takes you to admin settings under settings where you can change your admin username, password (the ones you use to log in earlier that are both admin), login timeout, and reset to factory settings.

4.) Status Tab: It shows you all connected users with their details from device name to IP address and DNS.

5.) Disk Tab: This allows you to access your SD card if you have any inserted into your device.

6.) Settings Tab: This is where all the magic happens. There are about 8 different tabs here but you don’t really need all except you actually know what you are doing.

From quick settings, you can change your MiFi name from the default Spectranet-LTE-*** to whatever you want, change your security mode to secure or open to everybody, change your WiFi-Key which all devices that want to connect to the MiFi will need and you can also change your admin password here.

From WiFi Settings, you can change some of the settings we already talked about above and more such as changing your security mode or strength and the maximum number of users that can connect to the device (from 1 to 10).

Other tabs under Settings are Network settings, Roaming, Network Operators, Admin Settings, Storage Settings, and Advance. But you don’t really need them as an average user.

Final Thought

Spectranet admin login gives you access to a lot of settings that allow you to control how your MiFi device works.

From your WiFi settings, you can change the MiFi name, admin login, security mode, and manage the number of users that can connect at a time.

There are also status and connection tabs where you can check the number and details of users that are currently connected and your data usage respectively.

It gives you total control over your device and it is just so amazing. My advice is, do not alter any settings that you don’t know anything about.
