A great call plan shouldn’t just have a very good talk time for local calls but also for international calls. This is one of the top highlights of airtel talk more which has the same call rate for both local and 5 international countries.

Over the course of this write-up, I will discuss the different bundles that will be available for you on Talkmore, how to check your balance, migrate and recharge as well as Talktime breakdown using its call rate.

The lowest of the bundles cost 60 Naira and gives you 300 Naira airtime value that is valid for 3 days while the highest bundle cost N3000 and rewards you with 15,000 Naira value that is valid for 30 days.

To migrate to talk more, you have to buy one of the bundles and you can do that by dialing *234# to see the available options. You can also use the direct recharge code or SMS code that will be shared later in this write-up.

Talk-More plan is one of the few airtel tariff plans that gives bonus on recharge. Now, let’s talk about the bundles and do a Talktime calculation using its call rate.

Airtel Talk More Bundles Call Rate

The call rate for talk more tariff plan is 60 kobo per second or 36 Naira per minute. What that means is that for every 1 minute of call you make to any local networks or to selected international countries which include the US, UK landlines, Canada, China, and India, you will be charged 36 Naira.

For those that didn’t know how I arrived at 36 Naira per minute. Let me quickly break that down for you.

The call rate is 60 kobo per second, right? And we want to know how much it will cost us in a minute which is the same thing as 60 seconds.

  • 60 kobo – 1 second
  • X – 60 seconds

X = 60 x 60 = 3600 Kobo per 60 seconds (or per minute)

Now we have to convert that kobo to Naira. We all know that 1 Naira = 100 Kobo.

  • 1 Naira – 100 Kobo
  • X – 3600 kobo

X = 3600 / 100 = 36 Naira

This means our call rate of 60 kobo/sec is the same thing as 36 Naira per minute. Get that? Good.

So, let’s calculate how long (in minutes) it will take for you to use each of the available bundles on talk more.

Final Thought

As you can see with the talk time calculations above, airtel talk more is one of the best call plans out there you can opt in to.

Even though there are some other plans where you can get about 15 minutes of talk time for 100 Naira recharge, Talk more might be better if you make international calls to the selected countries because for 100 Naira you can talk for almost 14 minutes.

If you are using the airtime for browsing, you will be charged 51.2 Naira per MB and SMS isn’t 4 Naira as it is on other plans but 8 Naira.

If you want to buy any of these bundles using SMS, send TM”bundle amount” to 234 without the quote. For example, if you want to buy the 500 Naira bundle, send TM500 to 234.

Depending on who you ask, this is one of the best airtel plans for making calls to both local and international destinations.

The 60 Naira bundle expires after 3 days but the rest has a validity of 30 days. You can extend the expiry date by purchasing another bundle.
