Glo Tariff Plans for Calls and Data

You sure will need good Glo tariff plans if it is your desire to enjoy data benefits on your current tariff plan. You also need a plan that has a good on-net (glo to glo) and off-net (glo to other networks)

One of the perks that come with call plans these days is a data bonus which can be in form of airtime or a 100% bonus when you actually purchase a browsing plan and no one wants to miss out on it.

If I were to be publishing this write-up some months ago, the likes of Yakata and Jollific8 would have been on the list.

But at the moment, those plans have been deprecated. Both of them were the default plan for all new Glo sim cards but brekete now has that title and responsibilities.

Glo Tariff Plan for Data

Glo berekete call plan is currently the best call plan for data and it is also the default plan for all newly registered and activated sim cards. Dial *230# to migrate.

The data benefits you will receive on berekete are as follows:

1.) Activation Bonus

You will receive 600 Naira activation bonus immediately your sim becomes active which means fully registered, at least 100 Naira airtime has been loaded and your first call has been made.

Out of this 600 Naira activation bonus, 200 Naira is for data and can be used to visit any website or social media of your choice. The rate is 1 Naira = 1 MB which means the 200 Naira is equivalent to 200MB.

This is a one-time bonus.

2.) Double Data

From the moment your sim card is activated, you automatically become eligible for a double data bonus for the next 4 months.

It means on any internet plan you purchase for the next 120 days, you will receive a 100% data bonus.

3.) Recharge Data Bonus

a.) Anytime you load airtime as a subscriber on brekete, you will receive 700% airtime bonus out of which 300% is for data. This is in form of airtime.

b.) You will also receive a data bonus separately which is as low as 40MB when you recharge 100 Naira and as high as 2GB when you recharge 5000 Naira

c.) There is also a special data bonus which you will only receive on the first recharge of the month for 4 months. It is as high as 5GB for 5000 Naira top-up and as low as 40MB for 100 Naira top-up.

Glo Tariff Plans for Calls

  • Glo Infinito: 15 minutes talktime to family and friends numbers
  • Glo Berekete: 13 minutes talktime to all networks
  • Glo 11 kobo per second: 14 minutes talktime to all networks
  • Glo Gbam Plus: 14 minutes talktime to only glo numbers.

The best tariffs for making Glo to Glo calls are Infinito and Gbam Plus while the best plans for making calls to all local networks in Nigeria are Berekete and 11 kobo/sec.

Subscribers on the Glo Infinito Tariff plan can make calls for 15 minutes 9 seconds to only 10 Glo numbers they added to their family and friends list with 100 Naira airtime.

The same 100 Naira credit on Glo Gbam Plus will last for 14 minutes 23 seconds when used to call another Glo number but for 8 minutes 48 seconds to call any other networks.

Subscribers on Glo Berekete which are mostly new customers will be able to use 100 Naira recharge credit to talk for 13 minutes 15 seconds to any local networks in Nigeria.

That same 100 Naira will last Glo 11 kobo/Sec Plan subscribers for 14 minutes 4 seconds to call all local networks in Nigeria.

I have written extensively about each of these plans. Alongside their great Talktime, some of them still come with data bonuses and other benefits. You should check out those write up for much clearer pictures and how to migrate.

Final Thought

The default Glo tariff plan has always been the one that is best for data from Jollific8 to Yakata and now Berekete.

I sure hope there are more plans like this from Globalcom in the future. People will really love to have options when it comes to making this kind of decision.

There is a dedicated article on berekete where I have extensively written about its complete benefits and did a Talktime calculation to know how long 100 to 1000 Naira airtime will last while using it to make calls.
